Insch Forum::[request] Thomson family at Mill of Dunnydeer
Hello everyone

Happy Christmas to all from Oxfordshire, where it's tipping down with rain

I have just registered on the site would be very interested to know if anyone remembers Mill of Dunnydeer, now demolished, where my ancestors, the Thomson family lived for several generations.

My 2 x great grandmother, Mary Thomson was born at Mill of Dunnydeer in 1839. Her father John, and his father Peter were tenants there for about 60 years until the 1880s.

Would love to know if any pictures of the original Mill have survived. I've been searching for over 30 years!

Serena

Charles Sim Jeweller? [by colinsimuk]

Insch Forum:: Charles Sim Jeweller?
Hello,

I recently purchased a piece of vintage jewellery from a shop in Edinburgh. The box inscription was for a jeweller by the name of Charles Sim of Insch.

I am interested to know if anyone has heard of this jeweller or where I might obtain any further information about it. Charles himself I believe would be now deceased as I was told the box was from the 1920/30's

If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate it.

Kind Regards,

Colin Sim.
